So much

Alright, alright I know it's been over a month but I have had so much happening both with the family and on the farm.

Spring is here and with that are so many more responsibilities.

We were on a hot streak there for awhile with the sale of our rabbits and now everything has come to a crawl so I have to post more ads.
Seems like everywhere I previously posted them in person has had someone remove the posts.
 It's horribly frustrating.

My boyfriend bought me 2 Hereford piglets recently (Mothers Day gift) so they now occupy alot of my time.

One of my Boer goats are sick so much for medicating at a bare minimum.

To top it off our 10 year old Border Collie (who we were told was only 7 but we found vet papers stating otherwise) that we took in a year ago is showing her age and it is terribly frightening to me.

Other than that things are going as expected.

Michael bought a tractor and plays on it often.

Our lawn mower broke the back axle off last weekend, so thank goodness for the hay mower.

My oldest son is getting into trouble at school daily and maybe I'm biased but as I see it, I think it's largely due to lazy teaching, and bulling.

That's all I have for now, but I will be sure to post more often.

Wondering...

So we buy this big multi level house with all this land and everything is fairly fine until...

we start to lose power periodically in half our house.

This has been going on for about 2 weeks-usually only for 20 minutes max.

I normally wouldn't complain about any of this I lived without power off and on for half of my adulthood.

In most cases I enjoy the break of the "noise."  The distraction of what needs to get done around the house is perhaps my biggest addiction.

I think I am having such a difficult time with this particular outages is that  being it's partial my stove doesn't work, the refrigerator isn't working and I have a load of laundry "stuck" in the washer that of course won't unlock it's door because the power is out.

We have a generator, we have the cords to use it-we also have gas to get it going but-I'm afraid to hook it up.

Afraid of getting electrocuted, afraid of electrocuting someone else.
Maybe I'm afraid of being so danged independent that I won't need Mike to come and save us.

He really likes feeling like he saves us.

So for now here I am wondering if I am going to get up the gumption to hook the generator up and secretly praying that God will wave a finger at the electrical box and make that turn back on.

Guess I'll never know if I can do it until I try.

Fingers crossed-

Holy Cow! The power just turned back on.

Amazed!

Finally

Finally, that's all that I am feeling at this moment.

Finally, I got my very large garden plans done.

Finally, I got our two little doelings (young girl goats)

Finally, I have all the seeds I will need for this year.

Finally, I made it out to the barns with the kids and the camera.

Finally, we have bunnies for sale and even sold 4 already!

Finally, I feel like I am right where I should be-doing exactly what I should be doing.

Finally. I am so very overflowing with happiness.

Spring is underway!

I can not wait for this weekend!

I absolutely can not wait!

After canning and preserving 16lbs of strawberries yesterday I realised it's time to till the garden area.

Than while doing the animal chores I got really excited to see the bunnies eyes opened.

I seen a grouse on the side of the road waiting to cross, I seen the 2 Turkey buzzards that have been stalking me, fighting on top of the deer blind.

The red tailed hawk must be sitting because I haven't seen her in 2 weeks~I know she's a her because last fall she took her baby out for a flight but it never came back.

Spring is sprung!

The geese are all over again, Robins, Red winged Blackbirds, Cardinals and Blue Jays all have been frequenting my bird feeders for the last 2 weeks.

I am very eagerly awaiting my 75 Daffodils to sprout and grow that I planted last year and saved all fall from the rotten squirrels.

Oh and squirrels galore~I think I counted 7 different babies trying to rip off my bird feeders.

Now if only all this mud would dry up, I have gardening to do.

Things are coming along.

Well the time of waiting is over.
Or was over on last Thursday.

Amelia rabbit gave birth to 9 rolley polley black and grey bunnies.

Now we have to get two more rabbit hutches built on top of the chicken coop, and the preperations for the goats and piglets we have on order.

We are super excited about the growth of our furry friends.

Abigale is due in another week than we'll really be in a crunch to get more hutches going.

Glory to him for putting us on this awesome path!

The garden needs some planning.

Now is the time of year when I should be pouring over seed catalogs (that I don't have)

planning out what to plant where and how much.

Heres the deal, we have a plan...I think.

We want a huge garden that we can pick the surplus and take that to the local Farmers Markets and "share" for a little bit of barrdering or $. (of course)

So here I am, sitting in my jammies tring to figure out what I want and how much before next Saturday.

That's the very last day I can wait to start my seeds or my garden will go in late and our plans will be put on hold.
No way! I'm not taking the heat for this one.
I'm excited about this, nervous, a little stressed but mostly excited.

I think I know what I want to plant.
I have plenty of books about it,
plenty of visions.

This 10 inches of snow is distracting me, and the 3 cat's that are getting cabin fever and starting to eat my house plants and making me apprehensive.

So with all being said, my biggest plan for today is to go through my ideas one by one and start drawling and writting down my garden plan.

Today is a "clean" day!

Today I have decided to finally start my blog.

Congratulations you are reading the very first one!

Today is a "clean" day!

With that being stated I have also decided to clean out my house of anything that I have not used in the last 6 months.

I moved in here 6 months ago and slowly started storing stuff here and there, until I now feel as though I am sufficating on the clutter of my house.

I must clean! and not just wipe the dirt off the floor, I must clean out the refrigerator and figure out what to do with 5lbs of already roasted and peeled garlic. The smell is starting to seep out of the fridge and into the surrounding rooms ugh!

I am also tired of looking at the same old coffee pot that really doesn't work, the knives the really really need sharpened, and the spices that are collecting dust because I don't know what to use other than Cinnamon.

I have just spent the last 5 days with my kids off of school and us either building messes, or building chicken brooders and rabbit hutches...

It's time to "shine my sink" as Fly Lady would say.

No more dragging my feet!
I'm gathering boxes and putting everything that doesn't have a home in it and never looking back.
I want a clean house! There I said it...now if I can only find my magic pixie and get her to bring her vacuum~mines clogged.
